Animisha Bhagavan's Story
Kumbhilapuram, the place which now remains as a small village by name Kumili was in fact the first capital of the Pasupathi dynasty of Vizianagaram. Towards the last part of the 16th century AD, Madhava Varma the founder of the ruling dynasty of Vizianagaram, was ruling the Kumili estate as a vassel of Golconda Nawabs. Kumili has another significance. It is the place where the great saint incarnation famous as Trilinga swamy of Benaras was born.
In such a significant place called Kumili, among the reddy families, Nelaapu family is a great family. The neelapus were the zamindars in the Vizianagaram estate. Their Family aqquired the fame of being the epitome of honesty, charity and morality. Jaggu Naidu was born into this family. He was known for his truthfulness, spiritual bent of mind and blemishless character. Shyamalamba was his wife. This couple did not have children. They performed several penaces and austerities for the sake of children.
One day a sadhu (an ascetic) came to Jaggu naidu and said ” you will be blessed with a son who is like lord Mahavishnu.” saying so he disappeared.
A few days after this incident, shyamlamba conceived because of the divine blessings, and as a divine reward to their previous births, they were blessed with a child who later on turned into Sri Animisha Bhagawan during the auspicious twilight moments of the 1st of July,1909.
